BIGBANG’s Choi Seung Hyun, will be the first member to enlist in the two-year mandatory military service on February 9, 2017 at Nonsan Army Training Center. Better known as T.O.P., he is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter and actor. He is well known for his low-bass timbre rapping.
It was further revealed that T.O.P. will be spending his compulsory enlistement as a policeman for the duration of his service. T.O.P. will begin his basic four week training at the army training center in Nonsan, after which he will receive further training at the agency as part of the guard band.
While T.O.P. will be one of the older recruits — compared to the other conscripted policemen who usually are in their early to mid-20s — he is still the first member to serve in the military.
T.O.P who’s going be entering the military today expressed his gratitude to the fans who love him by posting a video of BIGBANG‘s Hong Kong performance on Instagram (January 22, 2017), saying “I’ll miss you a lot” and “Thank you everyone, I will miss you so much.” He also added, “I’ll make efforts to further grow as an artist and then come back to you.” In an interview, he positively added that he is always positive about the future and make plans accordingly. He refused to meet with other BIGBANG members before his enlistment as it will make him miss them more, which made G-Dragon and Taeyang sad for their hyung.
He has made a big screen appearance in a German-Chinese thriller film ‘Out of Control’ alongside with award-winning Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung Pak-Chi.
We wish him best and hope he will be healthy and happy during his military time. We will be waiting for you with our big smile. Thank you for everything our BINGU T.O.P.
